If i bring a tomato plant into my Greenhouse over the winter will it stay alive all year round?
Yes...some answers you have gotten here simply aren't true. An indeterminate type of tomato will grow indefinetly and produce fruit as long as it is warm enough and it gets high light levels. I used to work in a hydroponic greenhouse that grew tomatoes, and we trained a single stem up strings suspended in the ceiling. We would have plants that ended up 20-30 feet long, by trimming the lower leaves and laying the bare stems down horizontally across the rows of pots and having the top ten feet growing up the string. It was quite amazing. But here in Minnesota, they would go down hill in the winter due to the low temps and very low light levels, so we would eventually start new ones. The important thing is to have an indeterminate plant. These are not the bush type that only grow so big and stop, but the type that grow on and on.
